What comes over from Mailchimp?
Your contacts with their subscribe status, your lists, tags and segments, your past emails and your templates. Templates made in Mailchimp’s drag-and-drop editor can come over marked to rebuild. Paste an API key from your Mailchimp account and the import starts. Setting it up takes about five minutes. Contacts arrive at about 1,000 a minute, so most lists are in within the hour.
Will my emails still reach the inbox?
Yes. Banger sends from your own domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and checks those records before your first send. Start with your most engaged contacts and grow from there. Banger tracks bounces and complaints on every send and pauses sending if they pass safe limits.
Do I keep my domain?
Yes. You send from the same domain you use with Mailchimp. Banger’s DNS records sit alongside Mailchimp’s, so both keep working while you switch.
Do unsubscribes stay unsubscribed?
Yes. Unsubscribed, bounced and complained contacts come over with their status and are never emailed. An import never resubscribes someone who opted out.
What about my Mailchimp automations?
Mailchimp doesn’t let anyone export automations, so we rebuild those with you. Book a 15-minute call and we’ll go through them as Journeys. Each Journey starts sending only after you approve it.
What happens to my Mailchimp account?
Nothing changes in it. The import only reads from Mailchimp. Cancel your Mailchimp plan once you’ve checked everything in Banger.
How does the free month work?
Pay yearly, upfront, and your first year costs 11 months: Pro is $220 instead of $240, Business is $880 instead of $960. After that it renews at the normal yearly price. You can also pay month to month, without the free month. Migration is free either way, and Banger prices by emails sent, never by contacts.
