Questions about transactional email
What is transactional email?
Transactional email, also called product email, is the email your app sends to one person because of something they did: a receipt, a password reset, a sign-in code or a shipping update.
How does my app send one?
Call the Banger API with the email’s key and the data it needs, like a reset link or an order number. Banger fills in the email, sends it from your domain and returns a status. Repeating a call with the same Idempotency-Key never sends twice.
Can I send over SMTP instead?
Yes. Use submit.bangermail.com on port 465 or 587, with an API key as the password. Supabase, WordPress and most apps can send this way.
Who designs the emails?
Your AI, in your brand, starting from Banger’s templates. Or your code keeps rendering its own HTML. Either way, each email shows up in Banger, where your team can see it.
Will product email land in the inbox?
Product email goes out from its own address on your domain, apart from your newsletters, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up. Banger handles bounces and complaints, so your sending stays healthy.
Is it included in the free plan?
Yes. Every feature is on every plan. Free includes 500 emails a month, up to 100 a day. Premium is $20 a month billed yearly, or $24 month to month, and includes 50,000 emails a month.
