Simulate, review, and turn on a Journey
Preview each person's path without sending, the activation checklist, approval, and what happens when you edit a live Journey.
In this guide 6 sections
Simulate first
Choose Simulate (save first). Pick a contact, a start time, a language, and what they do, like reply, unsubscribe, or reach the goal. Banger shows the exact timeline they’d get, including delays from your frequency rules. Nothing is sent, and no contact changes.
The activation checklist
Turn on Journey stays off until:
- there’s a trigger and a reply mailbox
- there’s at least one email, and every email has content
- every button and link has a URL
- an event trigger has its webhook connected
- an event or conversion goal has its connection
- split shares add up to 100%, and any split has a goal
Turn it on
Press and hold Turn on Journey. Holding it counts as your review. If your workspace needs a second reviewer, the Journey waits in Approvals and shows that.
Choose how sends are approved in Sender and approval:
- Approve the setup once (default): after the review, every send runs automatically.
- Approve every send: each email waits in Approvals. Rejecting one ends that person’s run.
Edit a live Journey
Live Journeys are read-only. Choose Pause, edit, then turn it on again.
Changing the sender, trigger, audience, goal, steps, any email, or the approval mode is a material change. It needs a new review, and the Journey stops enrolling and sending until you turn it on again. Renaming it doesn’t.
Delete
Delete journey stops all runs and keeps the sending history. Emails your code sends with that Journey’s key are then rejected.
